military child support

Military Child Support - Here, seniors who owe child support can find out how much of their income can be withheld and how child support is calculated. Also, learn how to pay child support according to Texas law.

It depends on how many dependents are under 18 or entitled to child support and what kind of income they have. If your child is over 18 but still in high school, that child is still entitled to child support. If you have a child with a disability, after the child turns 18, it can continue for an unlimited time. Generally, the percentages listed in the table below are the percentages that the judge will deduct from your child support income.

Rules For Child Support With A Military Spouse

Child support should be removed. All child support payments must go through the Texas Child Support Funding Unit. If you make payments directly to the other parent, they may not count as child support and may be considered a gift. Exceptions to this rule may apply to certain benefits that are not subject to the reduction.

I am disabled and my children receive dependent care benefits because of my disability. Does this count for child support?

The court will determine how much you must pay under the child support guidelines, and then reduce the amount of child support due to your disability.

The court is withholding money for mandatory medical and dental care. If you don't have employer-provided insurance and the state provides insurance, you must pay up to 9% of your income to the state that provides the insurance. Alternatively, if the other parent pays for the insurance, you can order the other parent to pay back the amount they pay for the children's health insurance. You may also owe alimony, back child support, or spousal support.
