Military Child Month
At a young age, military children experience situations that most civilians will not experience in their lifetime. The fear and uncertainty that comes with being a mother. Frequent migration makes it difficult to establish roots in one place. PCS overseas flows that immerse military children in a foreign culture. These experiences, and many others, can change children's lives. That's why it's so important that we take the time to honor military children, just as we do their parents.
Military Families / Month Of The Military Child
Month of the Military Child was established in 1986, and for the past 35 years, military academies, cities and school districts have been encouraged to honor our young American heroes with events dedicated to them.
For the most part, Military Child Month and Purple Up are celebrated in the military community, but anyone can take the time to recognize our nation's military children. We've compiled a list of resources for military kids activities to help you find ways to celebrate.
First of all, we have to say that MilitaryChild.org is definitely a great resource, not just for Military Child Month 2021, but all year long. The goal is to ensure that all military children are college, career, and life ready. They seek to accomplish this by supporting, educating, advocating, and collaborating with organizations across the country.
Then, of course you have social media. Honor your military child by posting photos on social media and using hashtags to celebrate them all month long. Also note that Purple Day 2021 is April 16. This year's hashtags include #FutureHistoryMakers, #MOMC, #MonthOfTheMilitaryChild, and #PurpleUP.
